Dalglish Fellowship
ICEES Glasgow and the European University at St Petersburg are
pleased to announce a new annual fellowship programme. The Dalglish
Fellowship will allow for one scholar (usually 25 to 40 years old) in
any of the social sciences from the Russian Federation to spend 4
weeks at ICEES Glasgow each year. The Dalglish Fellow will be
expected to visit Glasgow in April/May, to present a seminar on a
topic of his or her choice and ideally to submit a manuscript for
publication in the Institute’s journal Europe-Asia Studies. The
Fellowship covers travel expenses from the Russian Federation to
Glasgow (economy class return), accommodation in Glasgow, a living
allowance and a modest sum for travel within the United Kingdom.
The Fellowship is made possible by a grant made in the early 1970s by
the Scottish industrialist Dalglish who was active in trade between
Scotland and the USSR.
The Dalglish Fellowship Programme The Dalglish Fellowship Programme
is managed jointly with the Faculty of Political Science and
Sociology of the European University at St Petersburg who will draw
up the shortlist of candidates.
Applications are to be received no later than 1 December and should
include (2 copies each) the completed application form; a curriculum
vitae (indicating date of birth) with list of publications; one
recent publication or unpublished text; and a short statement
(approximately 300 words) on the nature and purpose of the research
visit to Glasgow.
