I don't know anything about TI as a company, but they make very good
calculators - I have a 20 year old TI programmable calculator still
going strong on the original batteries!
By the way, the Maple Web site (www.maplesoft.com) has news of the
porting of Maple to the Cassiopeia, a 500 quid Handheld PC made by
Casio. That sort of competition may well help persuade TI to keep and
develop Derive.
