SECOND ANGLO-SPANISH SYMPOSIUM ON RURAL GEOGRAPHY

CALL FOR PAPERS
There will be a second meeting between British and Spanish rural geographers in July
2000. There are five themes:
1- Rural Societies at the beginning of the 21st century
2- The new CAP at the beginning of 21st century
3- Environment and agriculture in the year 2000
4- Globalised food networks and the local response
5- Rural land use competition
Two days are planned for papers and there will be two field excursions.
The number of participants is limited to 20 British delegates. Offers of papers from
postgraduates and young researchers are particularly welcomed, for whom some
support in attendance is anticipated. Assistance in translation from Spanish-speaking
British colleagues is also sought.
Expressions of interest should be made by sending an abstract of the proposed paper
together with personal details as indicated below. A full paper will be required by
March 31st 2000.
