I have a puzzle which I hope someone can solve for me.
Some time ago I treated an elderly lady who used to suffer from neck pain
with associated pins and needles in her arm, weakness and the rest. I don't
see her any longer as she seems to be OK but at the time when her symptoms
were bad she always had a red, inflamed, puffy eye on the opposite side.
When her arm was good so was her eye. It actually made treating her quite
easy as I only had to look at the eye to know how she was. I know the
cranial nerves affect the eyes, I am aware of the optic pathway, but her
problem was at C6 level. I feel I am missing something very obvious but all
my colleagues maintain there can be no connection, likewise the few GPs I
have dared approach. Can anyone out there throw some light on this matter.
Thanks
Marie
