Dear Sophie,
As the menstrual cycle and the luteal phase are associated with a
drop of endorphines, regulated by the sympathetic nervous system have
you tried anterior-posterior joint mobs of the cervical spine (see
Maitland 1986 text for description of technique). This may affect
the superior, mid and low cervical ganglions. The evidence in the
literature isn't very great but at least this connection exists in
the common rat - research from the late 80's by a group based in
Buenos Aires. Additionally i have found the technique very powerful
for the treatment of headaches of the distribution you describe.
irritability may need to be ascertained and probably will vary with
the menstrual cycle.
Good luck
