PgDip/MSc Acupuncture
Coventry University and Acupuncture Association of Chartered
Physiotherapists
This part-time programme of study has been designed to meet the needs
of physiotherapists. It is a modular structure leading to a
Postgraduate diploma and a Masters of Science Degree.
This course is underpinned by a philosophy of research and evaluation
and develops competence in the use of acupuncture in clinical
practice.
It is a development of the successful postgraduate course which has
been run by the AACP since 1992 in Nottingham.
Modules of study will be Research Methods, Foundation Acupuncture I
and II and Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. A Research Dissertation
completes the MSc stage. The programme will be delivered at Coventry
University for 20 weekends over two years. The dissertation can be
undertaken full-time (20 weeks) or part-time (40 weeks) by distance
learning.
Applications are invited from graduate (or equivalent)
physiotherapists. Applicants must have the facility to practice
acupuncture in a clinical setting throughout the duration of the
course. Students will be eligible for basic (after the first module)
and at the end of the course for advanced membership of the AACP.
