Dear List members,
as a result of some personal research I did, and posted to the
Sportsci list sometime ago, concerning Osteitis Pubis, and Gilmore's Groin, I had a request for help
from someone (male recreational runner) who has been diagnosed as having the former condition
(following a bone scan).
His physiotherapist has little or no knowledge of providing therapy for this condition and he asked
for advice on therapeutic modalities, or to be pointed in the direction of texts/people with the
requisite expertise. He would like to follow a conservative regime rather than undergo surgery, or
have steroid injections.
I have spoken to a local sports physiotherapist who has suggested some sources of information
including contacting Mark Commerford at Kinetic Control, and a new text: Therapeutic Exercise for
Spinal Segmentation Stabilisation in Low Back Pain: Scientific Basis and Clinical Approach..
If anyone could help with the following he and I would be most grateful:
The publisher of the above book
Anyone who has expertise with treating this condition, particularly in the New York area, who might
be willing to contact his therapist, and, or the client.
An address or contact number for Shirley Sarhmann in the States.
Please reply to me off-list. Please note also that I am not seeking payment from the client.
Many thanks,
Ian
