This is the first in what is intended to be a series of one-day conferences
sponsored by the newly-established Christianity in the Humanities Project,
based at the University of Glamorgan. The conference will address the
problem of providing students today with the understanding of Christian
history, teaching and spirituality required to study medieval English
literature and history. Areas to be discussed in detail will include
medieval drama, the English mystics, Old English literature, medieval
church history and spirituality and the Gawain-poet.
The conference programme will begin at 10.30 am and end at 4.00 pm and will
be held in the very comfortable surroundings of the University of Glamorgan
Business Centre. The University campus is 15 minutes by train from Cardiff.
The conference fee will be £15 (£10 for postgraduate students) and includes
lunch and coffee. Overnight accommodation can be arranged in Cardiff and
participants are welcome to join the speakers for a meal on the Friday
evening.
