Dear Robert,
here is how I would translate Levi's sentence to English:
"according to the stereographic terminology it has 001 cleavage".
(just in case you want/need to know: 001 refers to parameters known as
Miller indices which define intercepts between crystal surfaces and the
three crystallographic axes; this in turn defines a crystal face in
space).
