Please demonstrate that this list is not completely moribund.
We are looking for examples of research in any of the social sciences
(broadly interpreted) in India which has a British connection (however
tenous) and that fulfils one of two criteria:
1. It has had a seminal impact on thinking about development in India and
elsewhere.
2. It has had a discernible (positive) impact on the practice of development
and on welfare.
There is no time limit for this (J.S. Mill? K.Marx? H.Laski?) but modern
(post-Independence) examples might be more welcome. But the historical
examples are perhaps of more than historical interest. Any comments very
welcome.
Don't all shout at once!!
