Here in W. Sussex the Social Services Dept. has undertaken to promote the
emergence/development of a CIL.
We are aware of the argument that CILs are properly a matter for disabled people
and not an extension of Local Authority agencies but in the current absence of a
disabled people's organisation in the County, the SSD wants to take an
initiative here. The short-term objective is to bring together relevant people,
ideas, skills, and information to generate some momentum behind a CIL
development.
Ths is to ask if you could help us in the first instance with:
Names/addresses/contacts in existing CILs in the UK
Information about the history of individual CILs: how did they emerge & grow?
Examples of CIL constitutions & management structures
Descriptions of the range of activities undertaken by existing CILs
Details of working & contractual arrangements between CILs and Local
Authorities
I'd be grateful for information on any or all of these topics, to say nothing
of any other advice on the subject that's out there.
I can be contacted either by e-mail at [log in to unmask], or by Phone
on 01903 - 782345, by Fax on 01903 - 779377, or by post at the W. Sussex Direct
