One of the ways we learn best how to do new things is by example. We've
known for a long time that the DC community needs a good collection of
examples and recommended practice for how best to encode different varieties
of description. Now that RDF is coming on line and we have a formal
description of HTML encoding for both unqualified and qualified DC in the
pipeline, it is time to focus on the important task of providing a corpus of
examples and principles of practice.
Diane Hillmann, who has chaired the DC-Guides Working Group, has agreed to
be editor of the Recommended Practice at the DC Website. She has some good
ideas about how to proceed and welcomes additional recommendations about how
to build this important pedagogical resoure. If you have ideas and time to
invest in this effort, please contact Diane.
