Funded Research Trips to London and Florence
The European Union Social Science Information Research Facility
(EUSSIRF) is a Large-Scale Facility for Social Scientists, located in
London and Florence and financed by the Training and Mobility of
Researchers Programme of the European Commission.
The British Library of Political and Economics Science (LSE, London) and
the Library of the European University Institute (EUI, Florence) are the
two centres of a new initiative in European social science research.
EUSSIRF provides the opportunity for European Union researchers in the
social sciences (nationals of Member States plus Iceland, Israel, Norway
and Lichtenstein) to gain access to the collections, resources and
services of its constituent libraries. Short-term research visits to
either centre, lasting usually one month (Florence) or two weeks
(London), will benefit from:
- a substantial financial contribution toward travel and living
expenses
- help with finding local accomodation
- expert assistance in exploiting the centre’s collections and
resources
- training in new research technologies
- the opportunity to integrate into the wider academic life of each
centre (the European Institute at the LSE and the Robert Schuman Centre
at the EUI)
The next deadline for applications is 30th June 1999. Visitors selected in this round will be for
the period from 1st October 1999 to 30th April 2000.
