The social research unit at System Three provides high quality, social
policy research to clients in the public and voluntary sectors. We undertake
a range of projects using both quantitative and qualitative methods. Most
significantly, System Three is the lead contractor carrying out the Scottish
Household Survey - the first major survey for the Scottish Parliament and
the largest social survey in Scotland.
The unit is staffed by five full-time researchers in our office in Edinburgh
and is supported by the company's in-house fieldwork and data processing
teams. The unit has grown considerably since it was established in 1995
and we anticipate a turnover of £1m in the current financial year.
We are now looking for a researcher or senior researcher to join the team.
Working mainly on projects related to housing and local government, the
post-holder would be responsible for developing competitive funding bids,
designing and managing projects, and reporting results to clients.
Applicants for the position as a researcher would need a good
understanding of research methods and have experience of working in a
research or policy environment. Senior researcher applicants would need to
demonstrate a thorough understanding of research methods and would
ideally have experience of managing or undertaking research projects.
Further details of the position can be obtained by contacting Steven Hope,
Director, System Three Social Research, 19 Atholl Crescent, Edinburgh,
EH3 8HQ or telephoning 0131-221 9933.
