Dear Mirna Cicioni,
Your friend has to write a SHORT essay on Coleridge and post-Romantic
Italian writers?? - sounds like a tall order! Volume Two of a much admired
biography of Coleridge, by Richard Holmes, came out not long ago (late
1998, if I remember rightly), and in consequence there has been much on
Coleridge in the Times Literary Supplement this year. What about the
treatment of nature (+literary scholarship) in late 19th-century Italian
poets? And how about consulting Tom O'Neil at Melbourne Univ. Dept. of
Italian, if he's available?
Best wishes, Ann Lawson Lucas
