JOB OPENING FOR A RESEARCH POSITION IN COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE
The Euregio Computational Intelligence Center (ECIC) is a research
initiative of the EU (INTERREG II) in which the Fachhochschule
Muenster and the University of Twente participate. Its goal is the
promotion of the application of computational intelligence in small
and medium-sized enterprises (SME's) in the "Euregio" consisting of
the German and Dutch regions of De Achterhoek, Emsland, Grafschaft
Bentheim, Muensterland, Osnabrueckerland, Twente and Salland. In
this context, computational intelligence means the collection of
innovative techniques that include neural networks, fuzzy logic,
genetic algorithms and evolutionary computing.
The Laboratory for Signals and Systems - Network Theory (S&S-NT) is
one of the three groups of the University of Twente that contribute
to the ECIC. The group has an immediate opening for a "researcher"
(MOZ) to carry out practical projects in the field of computational
intelligence in cooperation with industries. The projects involved
have durations of a few months each and will be directly beneficial
to the SME's in the Euregio.
The candidate for the opening is expected to have an M.Sc. degree in
Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and have affinity with
computational intelligence. The employment period is for a maximum of
two years. Candiates interested in pursuing a Ph.D. (employment during
4 years) may also react. They will be considered for another job
opening in computational intelligence that is still in preparation.
