is seeking to fill two full-time vacancies
Disability Equality Officer

Working with other equality agencies, Disability Wales members and the
staff team, you will be involved in developing disability equality
information, advice and training services for the new National Assembly,
local authorities, employers, service providers and disability groups in
Wales. You will need a thorough understanding of disability rights
issues and an ability to work at all levels in the political arena.
Personal experience of disability will be essential for this post.
Access Officer

Working with local access groups and the Access Committee for Wales, you
will be responsible for developing access services, groups and networks
in Wales. You should have a thorough understanding of disability issues
and the planning process and should be able to work well with people in
the voluntary, public and professional sectors. You will have, or will
quickly develop, an expert knowledge of disability design, legislation
and group support issues.
These are national development posts and you will be required to travel
extensively throughout Wales. Knowledge of the Welsh language will be a
positive advantage, as will adaptability and commitment to team working.
Both posts are based at our offices in Caerphilly and will carry all
staff benefits, including a generous pension scheme and 25 days personal
leave allowance. The closing date for applications is Tuesday 20 July
1999 and we hope to hold interviews the following week.
