Dear all,

Since some of you are not members of the dc-general list, I have forwarded
to you Stu Weibel's recent email message requesting that people nominate
candidates (including themselves) for invitation to the Seventh Dublin
Core workshop, to be held in October in Frankfurt. Note that some travel
subsidies are available. Please send nominations directly to [log in to unmask]
Nominations (your own and others) should have a subject line:

     DC-7: NOMINATION

Requests for Subsidies should have a subject line:

     DC-7: REQUEST FOR SUBSIDY

The deadline for nominations is 1 August.

Best regards,
Tom

The Dublin Core Directorate invites self nominations (or nominations of
others) for participation in the Seventh Dublin Core Metadata Workshop
(http://www.ddb.de/partner/dc7conference/index.htm) , co-sponsored by Die
Deutsche Bibliothek and the OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc.

--- WHO SHOULD APPLY ---

Self Nominations are encouraged; nominations of others are welcomed as well.

Previous workshops have attracted resource description practitioners from
many sectors and disciplines, including libraries, museums, archives,
commercial search and description services and others. Implementors are
particularly encouraged to participate.

Please note that this workshop is intended to attract those with the
expertise and interest in advancing the state of the art and practice of
resource description for network accessible information. It is not a
tutorial.

The process and facilities require limiting attendance, so in general a
single applicant will be considered from a particular project or
institution.

All announcements concerning the workshop will be made on the DC-General
mailing list ([log in to unmask]). Instructions for joining are
available at the Mailbase website (http://mailbase.ac.uk/lists/dc-general/).

--- DEADLINES ---

August 1, 1999 Deadline for Nominations

	September 1, 1999 Invitations Issued

October 1, 1999 Deadline For Registration and Hotel
