Any thoughts from CGFers about the J18 demos in London and elsewhere?
I found the event profoundly moving: it seemed to make 'real' many of the
abstractions of our critical theory. But this turned out to be vaguely
unsettling too - made me think how often we are content to work _only_ at an
abstract level.
I recall Guy Debord writing that 'revolutionary theory is the sworn enemy of
revolutionary ideology - and it knows it', as if to say that a critical
theory not practiced is no theory at all.
Anyway, I would be interested in hearing your comments / critique of J18. I
was glad to be there - many thanks to those who provided me with details and
encouragement through CGF.
