We are a thriving integrated department delivering research and teaching
programmes across the whole spectrum of Computer Science and Electrical &
Electronic Engineering, and located in purpose-build premises on a parkland
campus on Edinburgh's outskirts.

Due to our continued success, we wish to expand our activities particularly in
the areas of Applied and Theoretical Computing, and at the interface between
Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. Applications are invited from
experienced researchers in the areas of:
Computer Vision
Database & Multimedia Systems
Dependable Systems
Parallel & Distributed Computing
Embedded Real-Time Systems
We would particularly welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates
who can contribute to research and teaching in interactive media, multimedia
technology, human factors engineering and HCI. The department has a long
standing commitment to research in (1) interactive systems design and multimedia
via Databases and Multimedia Systems (Interactive Media Research Group:
http://www.cee.hw.ac.uk/HCI/ ) and (2) advanced visual user interface
technologies via Computer Vision (Image Systems Engineering Laboratory:
http://www.cee.hw.ac.uk/isel/ ). In addition to undergraduate courses in HCI and
multimedia, the department offers three MSc programmes: MSc Interactive
Multimedia, MSc Distributed and Multimedia Information Systems and MSc
IT(human-computer interaction). There is also an active PhD programme in these
areas.
Salary for the Senior Lectureship will be in the range: £30,170 - £34,464 and
for the lectureships £16,655 - £29,048.
