RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/TRAINING OFFICER (TWO POSTS)
The Knowledge Technology Centre is a recent initiative evolving out of the
highly respected Artificial Intelligence Research Group. The Centre
undertakes work in the field of knowledge management and associated
technologies through pure and applied research and technology transfer
training programmes, under the leadership of Professor Nigel Shadbolt. Our
core
interests include knowledge capture (making tacit knowledge explicit),
knowledge organisation (models and ontologies to assist re-use and
retrieval) and knowledge publishing (intranets for knowledge dissemination).
This is a growing team and motivated individuals are sought who can work
on their own and with others on research and/or technology transfer
projects. Candidates should have relevant skills and interests in one or
more of the following fields: knowledge engineering, business process
analysis, ontologies, web publishing.
Salary will be within the range £15,735 - £23,651 per annum (under review),
depending on qualifications and experience. One post will be offered on a
fixed-term contract for a period of 18 months and the second post for a
period of 36 months.
