Research Studentship in Applied Artificial Intelligence
Applications are invited for a PhD research studentship in Applied
Artificial Intelligence at the University of Paisley. The project
forms a part of continuing research into hybrid AI problem solving
involving, in particular, the integration of casebased reasoning
with other AI problem solving methodologies. The successful
applicant will join one of the most active research units of the
University.
The studentship, which is for three years, is at research council
rates (around £6500 per annum) and also includes the payment of
research degree registration fees. Please note that only students
from either the U.K. or from other European Union countries are
eligible for this studentship.
Some parttime laboratory and tutorial supervision may be
available, up to a maximum of 6 hours per week, to supplement
the student's income. In addition, there may be the possibility of
some industrial financial support.
Applicants should have a First or Upper Second Class Honours
degree in either
(i) computing, or
(ii) a closely related subject (e.g. engineering), together with
substantial programming experience.
Some previous experience of artificial intelligence is desirable,
though not essential. The position is available immediately.
