A contact in family history is trying to track down a Synkerat Colliery.
On a birth certificate registered at Swansea in 1917 the father's
occupation is given as Sapper, Royal Engineers (Synkerat Colliery). Of
course the father's place of occupation may well not have been in
Swansea.
Has anyone heard of this colliery, assuming it is not a cover name for
something on the Western Front, or something that sounds like it?
Apologies to those in the Mining History list that have seen this
already.
