Absolute rubbish. I'm a second year Human Geography student at Glasgow. I
enjoy Skiing, Mountain Biking, Football, Cricket - you name it, both team
sports and individual. Just because I do all these things you seem to be
implying that I'm some sort of sexist pig who should jump ship immediatly to
the Phys. Geog. Department. You can enjoy sport and have an informed and
enquiring outlook on human issues you know. It's about attitude and
committment but ultimately enjoyment.
Here's a book I've just finished reading that I would like to
recommend to any social geographers with an interest in sport (don't let me
down, there must be dozen's of you out there) :
' Sport, Sectarianism and Society in a Divided Ireland'
John Sugden and Alan Bairner.
Leicester University Press (1993).
Not a Terminal Moraine or Biotic Index in sight.............
