Hi Mark
I don't know of a charter mark scheme as such. However, I have just
completed a study whose recommendations may usefully contribute to
such an endeavour. This was a two-year study of the service values
of almost 600 gay men in the South and West of England with regard to
primary care. It focussed on general practice on GUM clinics, and
undertook a comparative assessment of the values that service
providers working in those settings perceivce gay men to have. The
report recommends indicators for quality in the provision of primary
care services to gay men. As this study is specific about the
dimensions of service quality that gay men value, its results could
be used in the development of a gay friendly charter mark.
The report is now available at a cost of £8.00. if you'd like a copy.
Finally, on an allied note, quality guidelines for lesbian and gay
curriculum in postgraduate family medicine have recently been
produced by the Canadian Medical Association. I can send you the
reference if you're interested.
Hope this helps
With best wishes
