Hi Lex and all
This is an issue I've been thinking about for a while but I'm afraid I can't
give any references on Dewey - yet, though I can (in part) see where the
ideas of Pragmatics and Dewey could work together. Merleau-Ponty and body
theorists I do know something about. Have you looked at J.J.Gibson's work
or Drew Leder's "Absent Body", its not about the Disabled Body, but it does
show how many of the concepts in current Mind/Body theory are inadequate
when applied to disability, as well as being good starting points for
theories of the body, that despite philosophers protesting the contrary - is
an underdeveloped issue.
I would be interested with what you come up with regards Dewey.
