SOCIAL RESEARCH APPOINTMENTS
SCPR is Britain’s largest non-profit social research institute and
specialises in studies in public policy fields such as health, education,
employment, social security, family finances and socio-legal studies. We
handle a wide variety of intellectually challenging projects - commissioned
and grant-funded, ad-hoc and continuous. Our Quantitative Research Dept.
consists of around 40 researchers and our Qualitative Research Unit has
approximately 15 researchers. We have strong academic links, an in-house
Survey Methods Centre and an office in Scotland.
To meet expanding needs we currently have two immediate vacancies in the
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH UNIT. The first is for a Researcher with a minimum
of one year’s experience and skills in the conduct of in-depth interviews
and group discussions. The second post is for a Research Assistant on a
one year contract and would suit a recent graduate (min.2.1) or Master’s
graduate.
We offer competitive salaries, good prospects for advancement, favourable
working conditions (including generous holiday entitlement, an excellent
pension scheme and every other Friday off) and a stimulating, hardworking
and friendly environment.
Salaries: min. £15,000 pa for the Research Assistant post, upwards of
£16,500 pa for the Researcher post, commensurate with experience. For an
application form for the Qualitative Research posts and further details,
please write, in confidence, to the address below.
In addition, there are opportunities, from time to time, in QUANTITATIVE
research which would suit a recent first degree (min. 2.1) or Master’s
graduate, or someone with one or two years research experience. If you
would like to be considered for such an appointment, please forward your CV
to the address below. If we wish to take forward your inquiry, we shall
send you an application form for completion.
