* SOCIAL RESEARCHER: EMPLOYMENT POLICY
The National Institute of Economic and Social Research has
vacancy for a researcher in its Employment Group. The successful
applicant will principally work with Dr Neil Millward and John Forth
(both part of the WERS98 research team) on an ESRC-funded
project that will provide expert advice and a resource infrastructure
for analysts of the 1998 Workplace Employee Relations Survey.
Involvement in other quantitative / qualititative research projects is
also envisaged. Candidates should be computer literate, have good
quantitative and communication skills and a background in an
employment-related discipline.
Good first degree essential, Masters preferable.
Preferred starting date: Mid/late September 1999
Term of appointment: Two years, in the first instance, with a
probationary period of 1 year
Starting salary: £16,200
Involvement in this project offers the successful applicant a valuable
opportunity to become familiar with the conduct and content of
Britain’s foremost survey of employment relations, with a view to
subsequent involvement in other research projects within the
Employment Group.
