You are joking, are you not?
First off, RH does a lousy job if they do not address upgrade paths which
include the ability to run non-RH programs that worked under the previous
version (see this weeks Linux Weekly News at lwn.net about the problem with
StarOffice with apparently both RH and Star Division knew about, but decided
to a) do nothing about and b) bot even bothered to tell anyone).
Second, Open Source software allows you to at least locally recompile to
match your new set of libs (should you decide to upgrade them). That would
address Franciscos initial problem with R. However, as Ox comes without
sources, you in no better position than you are with any other closed-source.
