Having completed my PhD on the women's temperance movement in the
late nineteenth century which concentrated on the British Women's
Temperance Association ( also know as the NBWTA) and the role of the
presidents in the women's movement I keen to local the records of
local societies.
Obviously I have searched the Register of Archives and the standard
works, but the" haul" has been slight.
If anyone on this list knows of any records I would be grateful if
they could let me know. My particular interest is in the North West
of the UK and Yorkshire where temperance was particularly strong.
I am particulary keen to locate temperance statues or memorial
fountains still in location - just for the fun of it!!
Hope some of you can help.
