EUSIDIC 1999 Annual Conference
BUILDING BRIDGES TOWARDS THE NEW MILLENNIUM :
CREATING A NEW AGENDA FOR THE INFORMATION COMMUNITY
17 - 20 October 1999, Bruges, Belgium
May we now already have your attention for our annual conference Bruges -
building bridges towards the new millenium: creating a new agenda for the
information community - which will be held in the historical centre of
Brugge (Bruges, Belgium) from Sunday 17 until Wednesday 20 October 1999.
Three major themes will be covered over 2.5 days.
On Monday the theme is knowledge, information and data management. A mix
between state of the art (past, present and future), theory (set in the
context of innovation management) and a product session, outlining some of
the new knowledge management software tools.
The next day we change the emphasis to the future of content management in
relation to the Internet/Intranet/Extranet. Included here will be the
economic and legal aspects, the role/expectations of endusers, providers
and subscription agents, with some case studies of Intranet solutions
discussed in more depth
On Wednesday morning the role of the information specialist in and beyond
Y2K will be profiled, due to changing user expectations and the revised
role of the of the intermediary function ? In order to accommodate varying
points of view from the audience, we will conclude this session with a
panel discussion.
A conference that cannot be missed by the information community! So please
do write it down in your agenda in ink.
