Research fellow in the economic evaluation of cancer therapies
Job Description
* to carry out economic evaluations alongside EORTC clinical
trials and related studies in the field of cancer
* to employ the appropriate analytical techniques for economic
data collected in connection with clinical trials
* to carry out economic evaluations using modeling techniques
* to help formulate study proposals to apply for research grants
from public authorities and private organizations
* to make site visits (around Europe) to collect data on unit
costs, patient management strategies, and financing mechanisms
Profile
* preferably a masters degree and/or research experience in health
economics or in a related field of research. A biomedical and/or
statistical background is an advantage
* to be able to conduct statistical analysis of trial data related
to the economic component
* fluent in both verbal and written English
* excellent communication skills
* willing to work in a team environment

EORTC FELLOWSHIPS
The EORTC is an international organization under Belgian law whose aims
are to promote and coordinate cancer research in Europe.
The EORTC Data Center provides scientific and administrative support
including data management, computer, statistical and medical expertise
to the EORTC Cooperative Groups at a central site located in Brussels
and works in cooperation with a network of more than 2.500 investigators
distributed in over 350 institutions, mostly in Europe.
The EORTC Data Center is concerned with all aspects of cancer clinical
trials from the study design to the publication of the final results,
also including quality of life, cost evaluation assessments and quality
assurance programs. The EORTC Data Center is composed of more than 80
members (staff and research fellows) of 15 nationalities.
