The Berlin-based TV news channel n-tv (http://www.n-tv.de/) has just
gone live on the Internet, offering a free rolling news and current
affairs service in German to those whose computers can handle sound
and video. To watch it, you will need the RealPlayer WWW browser
plug-in, available as a free download from:
http://www.real.com/products/player/index.html
The n-tv live Internet feed is available in two versions:
high bandwidth (ISDN)
http://video.via.t-online.de/ntv/isdn.ram
low bandwidth (28.8 Kbps modem)
http://video.via.t-online.de/ntv/modem.ram
Deutsche Welle (http://www.dwelle.de/tv/) has also made its DW-tv
Journal programme available on demand over the Internet, in German,
English and Spanish (again requiring RealPlayer). The German version
is available at:
http://209.85.122.144/ramgen/g2/journal/deutsch.smi
For other radio and TV stations offering programmes online, see the
message I sent to the list back in January on 'German-Language News
Sources', available as a file at the Mailbase Website:
