I work in a 3 school 6th form consortium.
We have brought the idea of introducing A level accounts to our senior
management several times. The reasons we have been turned down have been
mainly due to the following:
1. Perception of lack of demand - but if you don't market it how do you
know?
2. Too similar to Business Studies - but we offered Business Studies and
Economics for a while... the students weren't allowed to choose both, we've
now moved to Nuffield because of the economies of scale it offers (amongst
many other reasons!)
3. Extra funding involved in setting up a new A level ... Psychology and
Media Studies have been introduced instead! So perhaps it just doesn't look
"sexy" enough on the A level prospectus!!!!!!!
We will try again, but to be honest I'm not holding my breath!
