You have failed to grasp the point.
Whilst some universities will accept students with a combination of A-Levels
and GNVQ's, depending on their overall points score, very few, other than
the old Polytechnic's, will accept GNVQ's as the sole qualification for entry.
These establishments, for obvious economic reasons, have tended to accept
just about anyone since Student Grants were abolished and replaced by loans.
The truth of the matter is the leading universities (all those in the 1st Div.) simply
do not accept GNVQ's as an acceptable qualification unless the student has impressive
A-Level results as well. Even middle-of-the-road establishments will only consider
GNVQ's at Distinction level providing they are accompanied by acceptable A-Level
results.
Just getting into ANY university should not be the aim.
