Geographers in today's industrially prosperous Victorian Britain will
no doubt be interested in the revelation that NATO apparently bombed
the Chinese embassy in Belgrade because their maps were out of date.
NATO vigourously contests this and says its latest maps were only
bought a year ago and have the date 1 April 1898 on them to prove it.
These maps show conclusively that this part of the Austro-Hungarian
Empire was the home of a Mr Gavril Princep who NATO's advance
intelligence shows was planning, in about 10 to 20 years time, to
assassinate a certain archduke, called Ferdinand. This NATO sssures
us, would have led to great instability involving the Prussian,
Ottoman, and Czarist Empires, leading to a "World War", the advbance
of Communism, and.....er...the formation of a group called "NATO".
NATO also assures us that it is now vital to bomb the Spanish
shipyards as its latest intelligence shows the Spanish are about to
assemble a "Greate Armade" to attack the UK any time now. And it has
the latest naval charts of 1598 to prove it!
