Dear All
Re: Education and Training in Electrochemistry Symposium at Electrochem '99
Offers of papers for oral or poster presentations are still invited for the
Education and Training in Electrochemistry Symposium that is planned as
part of ELECTROCHEM '99 (http://www.sci.port.ac.uk/aeg/ec99.htm), the
annual UK Electrochemistry conference, to be held this year at the
University of Portsmouth, 1 - 3rd September 1999.
This symposium follows the successful Electrochemical Education Symposium
held at Electrochem '98 (speakers: F. C. Walsh (Educational experiments in
electrochemical technology), B. Murphy (CAL tutorials in teachning
first-year electrochemistry), W. P. Hagan (A CAL package for thermal
modelling of fuel cell and battery performance), M. F. Cardosi (DigiSim as
a tool in the classroom and on the WWW)).
The session will seek to disseminate good and innovative practice in the
teaching of electrochemical topics at both undergraduate and postgraduate
levels. Presenters are invited to describe topics such as successful
teaching/learning approaches, the use of computer software in teaching and
to demonstrate novel lecture practical demonstrations.
A copy of the ELECTROCHEM '99 First Announcement and Call for Papers may be
obtained from the SCI Conference Secretariat, 14/15 Belgrave Square, London
SW1X 8PS, tel. 0171 235 3681, fax. 0171 235 7743, e-mail.
[log in to unmask] Please note that offers of oral (75 word
abstract required) or poster presentations should be sent directly to the
SCI Conference Secretariat, with a copy to myself.
