Dear Cliff,
We have already introduced the American ATLS course in Hong Kong for 2 years.
Bascially it is a 2 and a half day course. Besides the usual lectures on
specific topics, practical sessions include using anaesthetised pig to
practise surgical skills, e.g. chest drain & pericardiocentesis, etc. The
examination includes a MCQ session and a scenerio test in which you are acting
as a trauma team leader. The course in the States should be similar to ours.
I hope this information is helpful to you.
Regards,
Axel SIU
