This is in reply to Neil's posting of yesterday.
First: I remain unconvinced that the bloody atrocities of the Serbs are
worse than those of their neighbors in "former Yugoslavia." History will
judge.
Second, I misspoke (as Nixon would put it) in saying that Solidarity
supports the bombing: they don't. Louis Proyect emailed me as follows:
"Just FYI. Solidarity is NOT for the bombing. They sort of occupy a midway
position between the pro-war left (Susan Sontag, Bogdan Denitch, Joe
Conason, et al) and the hard left..."
Third, I again say to Neil and those who agree with him: we have to stop
the bombing FIRST!
