I'm part of a group based in Manchester and Leeds developing an
on-line distance learning masters degree in sociology, and am trying
to find out what level of interest there is in the wider community
for such a course. If you have time to answer the following
questions, I'd be very grateful (if they aren't relevant to you
please feel free to circulate this message more widely--also I'd be
interested if there are any other groups this information might be
relevant to).
I appreciate that these might not be the best places to send these
questions to, and so would be grateful if you could either circulate
this message more widely and/or let me know if there are likely to
be other, more central, mailing lists I could be using. In the first
instance this was sent to:
cyberspace-and-society
distancelearn-research
socinfo
virtual-universities
Apologies for cross-posting.
QUESTIONNAIRE
1. Do you have an interest in postgraduate studies online (or
would you have been interested in such courses when you were pursuing
your own postgraduate studies)?
2. What do you think about the possibilites for doing an MA in
Sociology online?
3. What generally have been your experiences of online learning?
4. What particular aspects of sociology--for example, methodology,
issues around technology use, etc.--would make such a course
attractive to you?
5. Why would you want to do a masters degree (or why did you do a
masters degree)?
Thanks for your help with this
