CALL FOR PAPERS
5th Postgraduate Education Discussion Group Conference
"Read all about it: literature reviews in the research process."
Keele University
Saturday 27th November 1999
****************************************************************************
In May 1995, a group of postgraduate research students within
the Education Department at Keele University formed a Discussion Group
to act as a support network. As a part of our research and development
as postgraduates we would like to hold a conference on Saturday 27th
November 1999. This is our fifth conference and follows on from the
very successful, 'The Madness in Methodological Social Sciences', sponsored
by QUALIDATA, held at Keele in November 1998 when over 50 students met to
present and listen to each other's work. The theme of this conference is:
literature reviews in the research process.
Therefore papers should focus on generic issues to do with how
we create and develop literature reviews. Issues include: general narratives,
the use of primary and secondary sources, the use of social theories etc ...
You may wish to consider how and why you may have applied a particular
social theoretical perspective (e.g. liberalism, feminism, Marxism,
pluralism, post-modernism etc ...) within your literature review.
The conference is focused at postgraduate students working within the
social sciences. We expect papers to reflect a range of experiences
from those who are just beginning there reading, to those who are at the
stage or considering publishing their literature reviews.

paper would you please E Mail or surface mail me with personal details, a
