Dear everyone,
(Sorry if you get this more than once - unavoidable due to
cross-posting)
Here at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine we are
developing a distance-based course in epidemiology using ToolBook II
Instructor 6 to deliver about 50% of the courseware.
We are looking for a ToolBook II (6.0) developer to help us make our
deadlines in the final stages of this project. We have a month left
(maybe two if we can get an extension) and a lot of material remains
to be produced. Therefore we would be looking to employ someone on a
contract basis for 4-8 weeks.
We have a fully developed template Book that we use as a starting
point for each course module that we create. Each module is developed
from a corresponding "storyboard", written by the subject experts. The
modules are pitched at a fairly basic technological level: there is no
sound or video, just text and still images, but these are supported by
a number of interactive components. These interactions are for the
most part not built-in ToolBook widgets; however bespoke "macros" have
already been written to facilitate their inclusion. Therefore at this
stage of authoring the majority of the effort is not so much in
coding, as in adapting the storyboard into a finished Book.
I would probably need to spend a day with the contractor, explaining
our procedures, the style we are aiming to keep to, and the operation
of the aforementioned macros. Then hopefully we could just plough on
with the work and get it all done.
If you think you might be able to help us then please contact me as
soon as possible and we can discuss it. Someone based in London or the
South-East of England would be preferred.
Cheers
Steve Bond
