The Scottish Cultural Resources Access Network is an innovative
Millennium project using multimedia and Web technology to make the
treasures of museums, galleries, libraries and historic buildings
widely available. SCRAN grant-aids small projects throughout the country
to digitise these resources and add machine-readable captions and
metadata to them. This data is then loaded into a searchable resource
base on the World Wide Web.
The SCRAN team now needs additional staff to assist in the quality
control of records added to the database. Tasks will include liaison with
information contributors, editing records for consistency and upgrading
them with indexing and other information.
The post, which will be in Edinburgh, will be on a Salary Scale of
12,009 - 14,337 pounds (under review)
