I chanced to see reproduced in an rather costly book yesterday an
advertisement by Lanchester Cars, which was based on a testimonial by RK in
December 1904. He was quoted as saying that he had had his water-cooled
Lanchester 12 for six months, had spent only a trivial amount on
maintenance - which would have been rare at that time - and that on the
strength of three years experience of Lanchesters he could commend the
marque.
Does anyone know where I can find an accessible source of the ad. to
reproduce on the Kipling Society website to help illustrate Kipling the
Motorist, or indeed a picture of a Lanchester 12 of that era ?
Any suggestions will be most gratefully received.
