A recent e-mail to the list enquired about recollected QoL and included
two points of paticular interest.
" My difficulty lies in the fact that for most of these boys I will be
asking them about how they felt 10 years ago "
Just how do we ask such a question - is it technically feasible to pose
such a question at all, for example to a patient following a stroke or
other traumatic event ? How much reliance can anyone reasonably place
upon recalled accounts of function or performance that relate to
circumstances many years past ?
"I couldn't realistically assume any link with the physio they had so
many years ago "
Even if we believe what we hear - how can we determine any causal links
that would be sufficiently robust to withstand critical scrutiny ?
Does anyone have any first-hand experience of dealing with these issues
?
