SuperJournal is holding a conference on Wednesday, 21 April, to present the
results of this eLib project. We have 20 spare places, so if anyone on the
eLib list would like to book a place, please send me an email (first come
first served).
The conference will be held at Birkbeck College in London. Coffee will be
available at 10:00
AM, and the conference will be from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
The conference will cover many aspects of the SuperJournal project
research, but in particular what academic researchers want from electronic
journals. The morning session will start with a vision of the future that
emerges from the research, and then cover specific findings in different
areas: readers, how they used SuperJournal, behavioral models, what they
want in future services, differences per subject area, author issues, etc.
The afternoon session will start by summarizing some of the lessons we
learned from implementing the project, eg developing an electronic journal
application, promoting it at the university test sites, designing user
studies, and conducting focus groups. Finally, we will look to the future
and the issues that need to be addressed to provide researchers with the
electronic journals and services they want.
If you would like to register, please send me an email. However, this
won't be the only opportunity to learn about our results. We will be
posting them on the project Web site timed to coincide with the conference
next week (URL listed below).
