UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON, UNITED KINGDOM
DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY AND SOCIAL POLICY
FOUR LECTURESHIPS
Applications are invited for 4 permanent lectureships in sociology and/or social policy. Candidates' area of specialism is less important than the quality of their achievement and potential relative to career stage. However, we would particularly welcome applicants with substantive and/or theoretical interests related to our current areas of research strength: family, household and community; gender, work and organisation; health and social care; social divisions and citizenship.
Two of the lectureships will be in Social Policy with a specific requirement for core teaching in social policy analysis and/or comparative social policy.
The Department was awarded a '4A' in the 1996 RAE and has recently appointed Professor Rosemary Pringle to the Chair in Sociology. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a Department at an exciting stage in its development.
Salary will be on the Lecturer scale: £16,655 - 29,048 per annum. Start date 1st September 1999, or as soon as possible thereafter.
