Dear All,
I agree wholeheartedly with Steve Lepper. I joined this list to contribute
and to listen and learn. I am highly delighted to say that I am learning a
huge amount from what are clearly very talented individuals. I choose these
words carefully because as a teacher of twenty years' standing I know the
relative, if not absolute, lack of support we all get from our glorious
employers: so the stuff we all see must come from people who are giving
their all and not simply tea leafing!
Aren't we in Britain famous for living by the saying that tis better to have
loved and lost than never to have loved at all? More power to the elbow of
anyone who has the courage and good spiritedness to put their materials to
the test for the benefit of us all.
The Biz/Ed site is improving on a weekly basis as far as I can see and is
exactly the kind of forum that a web site for the teaching profession ought
to be. Remember all of the long, lonely hours we have all spent working on
our notes, lesson plans, exercises, case studies, articles ... at last, we
have the opportunity to let each other in on our efforts .
Let's get back to our roots: let's teach and learn as we have all chosen to
do in our working lives.
By the way, www.onelist.com/subscribe/accjourn will let you in on a new
discussion list that those of us with accounting coursing through our veins
might care to take part in.
Yours in hope and expectation.
Duncan Williamson
