Forgive two mailings on the same subject, but rising early I wanted to find
out annual RPI values.
I have stumbled across a 5* site
Welcome to StatBase(r)...
StatBase(r) has been set up to provide access to a comprehensive set of key
statistics drawn from the whole range of official statistics.
http://www.statistics.gov.uk/statbase/mainmenu.asp
This is very similar to the ONS data site on biz/ed but contains up to the
moment data.
Results can be brought back as htm or csv.
For example RPI values are
Periods
CHAW 1995 149.1 1996 152.7 1997 157.5 1998 162.9
I have nto had time to give the site a real going over and suspect some data
sets may not be free.
However, an EXCELLENT resource for studnets to interogate?
PS The Pocket Databank DATA ON THE UK ECONOMY is availabe as PDF from
http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/pub/html/e_info/overview/pbook98.html. This is
theold pocket book of data and runs to some 13 pages
