FYI--from another list. Not having a TV (what a blessing), I hope
someone will watch this and report to the list?
Cheers,

List members who can receive British terrestrial television may be
interested in a programme on Channel 4 at 9 pm tonight (26 April). Equinox:
Sweden, Sex and the Disappearing Doctors concerns the policy of
sterilisation in Sweden from 1935-1975, which, according to the programme
information, was applied amongst others to the 'mentally retarded', those
suffering from mental illness, & anyone deemed to be antisocial.
It seems hard to believe that a state with a liberal reputation was
practising such policies less than 25 years ago, but Chris Gravell's
previous posting suggests that ideas like this may still be current.
